We are the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the
Labor and Employment Relations Association.
This chapter was established in December 1972
to provide a forum for management, labor and neutrals to explore
all aspects of labor and employment relations in an atmosphere
of cooperation and academic inquiry and to promote exchanges
among labor and employment relations practitioners seeking a favorable climate
for labor-management relations. In 2006 it merged with the
Public Sector Labor Relations Association to serve those in both
the public and private sectors.
Membership is on a fiscal year basis
(September through August) and is open to anyone interested or active in the field of
labor-management relations. Our members include
professionals from academia, labor, management, government, the
community of arbitrators, and students preparing to become
professionals. We welcome new members.
Programs and Activities
Meetings are generally held in the evenings from September
through May or June, usually in downtown Cleveland. Guest
speakers come from the regional and national labor and
employment relations community. These
meetings provide useful information concerning contemporary
topics and a relaxed forum for labor, management and neutrals to
exchange ideas, discuss issues and further business
relationships. Notices of upcoming meetings are
posted on the web page, circulated by email and sent by U.S.
mail.
